Re: Increase in USF Funding for UBTA-UBET Communications, Inc., in
Docket No. 05-053-01
To the Commission:
With reference to the Division of Public Utilities’ (“DPU”) letter to the Public Service Commission of Utah (the “Commission”), dated January 18, 2006, regarding the date on which the DPU recommends that the new distribution of Universal Service Funds (“USF”) should begin, please be advised that UBTA-UBET Communications, Inc. (“UBTA-UBET”), strongly disagrees with the DPU’s recommendation and its interpretation of the Commission’s November 4, 2005 Order and the Stipulation referenced therein.
Counsel for UBTA-UBET and its CEO/General Manager and CFO will be out of the office this next week. We, therefore, respectfully request that the Commission defer any determination of the date on which USF funding should begin until UBTA-UBET’s counsel and senior management have an opportunity to return and fully respond to the DPU’s recommendation.
We do ask that the USF funds for the month of January 2006 be distributed in the January cycle.
