R746-349 - Competitive Entry and Reporting Requirements- Amendment
Numerous Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) have entered into the Utah market since the passage, in 1995, of statutory changes in Utah's telecommunications regulatory scheme. With the influx of additional carriers, mergers, acquisitions and consolidations of telecommunications service providers have increased. Requests have been made to the Commission to outline a simple procedural process for merger and acquisition proceedings before the Commission. The Commission proposes R746-349-7 to provide guidance on how the Commission will address simple CLEC mergers and acquisitions.
