DOCKET NO. 05-057-06
INTERIM ORDER |
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ISSUED: May 31, 2005
By The Commission:
On May 6, 2005, Questar Gas Company (the Company) submitted a pass-through application in the above-entitled docket requesting a net annualized gas cost increase of $115,402,000; to become effective June 1, 2005. The increase is driven by substantial increases in the commodity/natural gas costs for service to the Company’s customers. The effect of this proposed change would increase the bill for a typical GS-1 residential customer using 115 decatherms of gas per year by $10.89 per month, which is a 14.42% increase. The Company also sought resolution of its costs to manage the heat content of its gas supplies from December 30, 2002, forward.
On May 31, 2005, the Division of Public Utilities (“DPU”) submitted its Memorandum to the Commission recommending that the proposed increase in rates be approved on an interim basis effective June 1, 2005. No other comments have been filed with respect to the Company’s Application other than the DPU’s response.
The Commission will approve the requested rate increase on an interim basis and use of the proposed rates pending final resolution of issues raised by the application. The interim rates may become effective June 1, 2005.
ORDER
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the proposed rate increases, to recover the projected increase of $115,402,000, requested by Questar Gas Company be placed in effect on an interim basis as of June 1, 2005.
DATED, at Salt Lake City, Utah, this 31st day of May, 2005.
